Breast Cancer: No One Fights Alone

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time where we spread knowledge about the impact of breast cancer in women’s lives. 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Although rare, men can develop breast cancer as well. There are several types and stages of breast cancer. The stages increase as the cancer moves to other areas of the body, or as tumors grow. The survival rate of breast cancer has increased since 1990, thanks to early detections, better screening, and continually improving treatment options. To help yourself with early detection, conduct monthly breast self-exams, and if you have any questions, speak to your doctor. On October 22nd, 2021, Staff and Residents wore pink to show that no one with breast cancer fights alone. We are here to support you.
