Shady Lane has made the unfortunate decision to cancel all summer events and activities for the safety of our residents, staff, volunteers, and the community. As Wisconsin continues to open and the risk of the spread COVID-19 still prevalent, Shady Lane has decided to reduce as much risk as possible. Shady Lane understands fully that this is a disappointment to residents, families, staff, and the community but in this time of uncertainty, we must follow the guidelines that have been set, including social distancing and limited attendance. The residents are of utmost importance.
Shady lane continues to follow best practice guidelines for infection prevention as published by the CDC and CMS, both of which currently states that facilities should restrict visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel, except for certain compassionate care situations, such as an end-of-life situation. These guidelines drive the decisions made for care providers, which are intended to protect the safety and well-being of residents.
While in-person visits continue to be restricted, Shady Lane continues to invite families and friends to take advantage of the virtual visit options that have already been implemented within our activity department. Visitation policies are closely monitored with public health officials and regulators and updated as needed.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding during these difficult times.
