In announcing the addition of Joseph Metzen to the board, Todd Meerdink, our CEO said,”Joseph will be a great addition to the community members who lead Shady Lane. Because we are a community-directed non-profit, it is local leaders like Joseph who keep us in-tune with our community. They have a finger on the Manitowoc area pulse and know what is needed.” Joseph’s knowledge of and commitment to the community over the past two decades, will help us remain relevant, especially in the planning of our long-range building project.
Joseph is the Associate Executive Director of the Two Rivers – Manitowoc YMCA where he oversees fund raising, youth programs and the YMCA’s two childcare centers. He holds a degree in Fine Art and a BFA in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). No stranger to leadership, he has served on the boards of Two Rivers Business Association, the Spirit of the Rivers, the Manitowoc School Board District Foundation, Art Splash Main Street, Lakeshore Planned Giving Collaboration, and the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra.
As a Greater Manitowoc Area asset, Shady Lane is guided by a board of local community leaders committed to providing quality care. As a non-profit, income is returned to Shady Lane to keep our quality affordable. This is how great communities
care for their elders.
